DVD Shoot
So finally what the fans have been waiting for - the
TFK DVD shoot!!

At the end of January 2003 Roine announced to
the Flower Kings mailing list that they were all invited to be part of the
studio audience during the bands DVD recording, which was held on Monday,
February 10th at the Uppsala Stadsteater in
The Stadsteater
is a small theater (maximum audience 75) but with the
advantage of a very wide stage that lent itself well to the project. The shoot
featured a mouthwatering set in perfect almost
'studio' sound conditions:-
- The Truth Will Set You Free
- Stardust We Are (Full version)
- Silent Inferno
- Circus Brimstone (Featuring a large improvised 'Jam' section)
- Humanizzimo
Approx set filmed length 3 hours!
The great thing was seeing the
'mad' percussionist Hasse Bruniusson
playing with them for the first time making, with (Pain Of
Salvation's) Daniel Gildenlow, a 7-piece TFK.
Unfortunately Saxophonist Ulf Wallander already had a
concert commitment that day or it would have been 8!
All in all they played for around
6 hours with full retakes of The Truth / Humanizzimo
and a couple of sections of GOD. Add to that a couple of un-filmed practice
jams....
A great time was had by all.

Mixing of new Kaipa
CD will start within the next week.
Lundin & Stolt have finished
the recordings with same team as on "Notes From The
Past" - Inside Out 2002.
More work has been put into the writing of music
and lyrics and the arrangements on this CD.
Patric Lundstrom of Ritual does
some amazingly good vocal performances here and also some great stuff from Aleena who loosens up a bit on the new one and does
extensive vocal backup too. This time I and Lundin
add backup vocal too to give this CD a more vocal approach than before.
This time I've also written or re-written most
of lyrics and contributed some minor music themes on the new CD.
Instrumental sections are more focused and
diverse in sound. Still contains loads of real
The album is schedule for release in
August-September 2003 by Inside Out.
My guess is that it will be,from a music point of view, one of the major 'prog' releases of 2003, together with Tomas Bodin's new CD, that has some lovely soulful writing &
great new sounds from Glenn Hughes guitarist Joachim Marsh recommended to Mr Bodin by yours truly ;-)!
Then there is the 'Tangent' and the new 'Karmakanic 2' if you want to indulge even more in
Flower Kings land.
First Flower
Kings DVD coming out soon!
"Meet The Flower Kings" will be the title for the first
Flower Kings DVD. It looks like the double DVD and the double Live-CD will be
available in October. There will be also a Limited Deluxe Edition with
both DVD's and CD's.
From 3 November 2003 everybody can enjoy the flowerkings on DVD
